Chicks Dig Godly Men!
We too often only hear about a
Fuzzy Bunny like Jesus, who loves everyone and speaks
in soft whispers and looks like a Swedish Romance
Novel Cover Model. This picture of our SAVIOR
is simply a less than honest, if not frighteningly
inaccurate view of Jesus. He's called the Lion of
Judah, for heaven's sake. His return described in
Scripture tells of Him riding a white stallion with
his robe dipped in blood! He is not sweet! Before you
roll your eyes… He is the loving picture we often
see, and were taught about as children but He is also
a fierce and immeasurably Brave Warrior. Jesus is a
whole lot more like the person of William Wallace in
the movie Braveheart than some wimpish cover boy. He
is all man!
Are you married? Have you ever
watched Braveheart with you wife? If you have, did
you notice the look on her face while she watched?
Trust me, her heart is pumping a little faster
as she watches this warrior defend the memory of his
wife and defend his people against tyranny. And
until we live like we too have a real life enemy, we
cannot and will not understand this life and our
place in His Story. The problem of evil is an ancient
philosophical dilemma. We inherently want to fix
blame on all sorts of “things.” We would rather blame
something we can see or touch. We look everywhere and
consider everything else before we consider the truth
that has been laid before us in His
word.
We have been told of and warned
throughout Scripture that there is an evil in the
universe which is spiritual in nature, ancient, very
real and quite personal and when we begin to live
with that kind of understanding, life will begin to
come into focus like never before. When we begin to
see that there is something, someone, a being who
hates us and wishes us harm and wants to inflict harm
to those we love, we then can understand the Warrior
like mentality that requires us to step up, and step
out in faith as the Spiritual Leaders and Men of God
that we have been called to be. And you know what
guys… Chicks Dig Godly Men!
